Brock Sauls, DVM

Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. Sauls grew up in Charleston, SC and received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University in 1996. He continued his education at the University of Georgia, where he received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. For the last three years, Dr. Sauls has been practicing veterinary medicine on Hilton Head Island at the Hilton Head Veterinary Clinics. However, Hilton Head wasn’t close enough to his home. Charleston is where his heart is. Therefore, he decided to open his own practice in a rapidly growing area. He is very excited about being back home and practicing in the town he loves.

Jaime Wright Carroll, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Carroll is a native of Florence, SC. She received her B.S. in Sociology from the College of Charleston in 1999. Five years later, Dr. Carroll decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. She received her DVM from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2010 and promptly returned to the Charleston area. She joined the staff here at Southside Animal Hospital in August of 2010 and is thrilled to be starting her career in the city she loves. Dr. Carroll has a special interest in emergency medicine. While at home, she is entertained by her cat, Shady, her black lab, Angus, her Bassett Hound mix Chaquita and her husband, Michael. She is kept busy by her daughters, Eliza & Josie!

Kevin Moser, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Moser is originally from Winston-Salem, NC and received his undergraduate degree in business from UNC Wilmington in 2007.  Shortly after, he moved to the Charleston area for 3 years.  While in Charleston, he decided to go back to school to become a veterinarian.   In May of 2016, on the night that he received his DVM from NC State School of Veterinary Medicine,  Dr. Moser and his wife welcomed their first child, Greyson.  Afterward, Dr. Moser and his family returned to Charleston and he joined the team at Southside Animal Hospital in July of 2016.  He enjoys spending time with his golden retriever, Bodie, his dachshund, Scooter, his wife, Megan, and their two children, Greyson and Kenzie.

Michael Forcier, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Forcier landed in the Charleston area in 1985 at the end radio journey that started in Minnesota (his birth home) and passed through the Rocky Mountains.  After a successful career "on the air" mornings in Charleston, Mike headed back to school at the age of 34.  With a Biology degree from the University of South Carolina and his  DVM from the University of Minnesota in hand, Michael returned home to the Lowcountry.  After 15 years practicing in Mt Pleasant, Dr. Forcier proudly hangs his shingle here at Southside Animal Hospital.  He is the father of two grown boys, a Labradoodle, a Yorkie, and a three-legged cat named Juno.

Michele Mihok, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Mihok joined the team at Southside Animal Hospital in 2017. She works part time and spends the rest of her time with her family. Dr. Mihok was born and raised in Dover, Delaware. She started her career at a small animal hospital in rural South Carolina. She then moved to Seattle for 4 years with her husband, who works for Boeing. Dr. Mihok is excited to finally be back on the east coast closer to family and continue the career that she loves. Dr. Mihok lives on Johns Island with her husband Dave, their three big dogs Sammie, Buster, and Lilly, and they are the proud parents of 2 sons! She enjoys camping, hiking, running, scrapbooking, and the beach.

Robyn Sparks

Hospital Administrator

Robyn relocated from Hilton Head to Charleston in 2011 to join the team at Southside Animal Hospital. She has been working in the field since 1987. She and Dr Sauls started Charleston Canine Reproductive Services in 2013. When not in the office, Robyn spends time training dogs with friends or relaxing near the water. Robyn spends several weekends a year at dog shows where she competes in conformation, rally, obedience and schutzhund. She is the owner, handler and breeder of Whippets, Doberman Pinschers and a German Shepherd Dog. Visit her web site www.Notori.net. Michelle Hawkins

Practice Manager

Michelle joined the Southside team in November of 2020.  Prior to being with Southside, Michelle was in veterinary emergency medicine for 17 years.  Michelle is originally from Ohio.  She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University.  In her free time, she loves to travel and explore new areas and does so whenever she can.  She also enjoys reading, running (sometimes), and is a big fan of good food and college football.   Go Buckeyes!!

April Lacson, LVT

Inventory Manager

April joined us in March 2020. She was born in California but has lived in South Carolina since the age of 5. After being in the Coast Guard for 4 years, she went to college and graduated from Trident Technical college in 2003 and obtained license as a Veterinary Technician. She has worked in several areas of the field including surgery and emergency medicine. Recently started a new hobby in horseback riding. She enjoys spending time with my daughter Isabel.


She have 2 dogs, Faith and Sara; 1 cat, Zoe; a leopard gecko, Hadgi; and 2 quarter horses, Dixie and Smarty.

Melisa Jackson

Veterinary Nurse

Melisa joined the practice March 2017. She has a busy life outside of Southside Animal Hospital between, her 3 boys, 17yr old, 12yr old, and 2yr old, 5 horses, showing Western Pleasure and Barrel Racing, and her 5 dogs she is always on the go. She also does emergency anesthesia for a large animal practice in the area. Melisa loves animals of all shapes and sizes.

Keisha Whitaker

Veterinary Nurse

My name is Keisha Whitaker. I am from Aiken, South Carolina and moved to Charleston in 2015 for school. I recently graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. I currently have a 5-month old pitbull named Rocko, who keeps me very busy. I am very excited to be apart of the Southside Animal Hospital team.

Logan Mosley

Reproduction Nurse

Logan and her husband relocated from San Deigo CA about 3 years ago. Leaving behind her job as a practice manager at a Veterinary Resort. Logan has worked with us as our Lab Technician and Veterinary Nurse until recently she has taken over the role of our Reproduction Nurse. Logan enjoys working with all breeds and particularly loves Irish Setters. She has 5 birds, 4 dogs, and a large variety of aquatic animals. We are so happy to have Logan be a part of our team at SSAH.

Hanna Hughes

Customer Service Representative

Hanna has grown up and lived in Charleston her entire life. She currently have two pets that she's rescued, an adorable tabby cat named Pika and a sweet pitbull mix named Artemis who are both like her children! She enjoys taking them to different local parks and beaches in her free time. She loves being a part of this awesome team and always looks forward to meeting our clients’ furry companions!

Victoria Bailey-Waterlander

Veterinary Assistant

Victoria  was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She has always had a passion for animals, helping my mom raise and rehabilitate baby squirrels who had fallen from their nests. Her dream is to become a Veterinarian working with wildlife in the rescue and rehabilitation departments. She loves spending time with her husky Sodom and then the rest of my husky pack (Butterball, Tribble and Shadow). Her other hobbies include nature photography and reading about ancient cultures and mythology.

Sam Hartley

Veterinary Assistant

Samantha was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She has always grown up with pets and loves animals. She currently has two family dogs, Piper and Gracie, and two gerbils, Hippo and Potato, who she loves and cares for so much. Since she was a little girl, she always wanted to work with animals, from four legged animals to ocean animals.

Logan Brownlee

Veterinary Assistant

Logan was born and raised in Charleston. She loves anything with four legs. She has two dogs, a chocolate lab and a yellow lab and many chickens and ducks. On her days off she enjoys being outside with her animals and spending time with her friends and family. Ever since she was little, she knew she wanted to work with animals and is grateful for the opportunity to do what she loves with such an amazing team. Logan is currently in school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Nicole Kingston

Customer Service Representative & Nurse Assistant

Nicole joined our team in 2022. She has been cross trained as a Customer Service Representative and a Nurse's Assistant. Nicole was born in Charleston, SC. She has an Associate of Arts from Trident Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The Citadel. When Nicole was in High School, she wanted to be in the Criminal Justice field, but she also had a love and passion for animals, especially horses. Nicole started riding at the age of seven and got her first horse in November 2015. She went on to show him until it was time for him to retire. He is now 24 years old retired, happy, and healthy. During Nicole’s free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Nicole loves to learn about the veterinary field and everything that goes along with it, and she has a fondness for all the animals that come to visit.

Kaitlynn

Customer Service Representative

Kaitlynn is from Johns Island, SC. She currently has 2 dogs, a Labrador Retriever and a Siberian Husky. On her days off she loves playing with her dogs, practicing archery, and spending time with her family and friends. She has always grown up with many kinds of animals including horses, goats, pigs and turkeys. She adores all breeds of dogs and hopes to own many more in the future.

Steph Thompson

Customer Service Representative & Veterinary Assistant

Living in Charleston her entire life, Steph has loved every animal her entire life. After high school she began her career in veterinary medicine while working at a local shelter, eventually working with the ASPCA on cruelty cases. After having her daughter she took a few years off and is now so excited to be back in veterinary medicine! On her days off she can be found enjoying time at home with her husband, daughter, and 3 fur babies!

Emily Fischer

Originally born in Danbury Connecticut, Emily has spent most of her life here in Charleston South Carolina. Animals have always been a point of interest for as long as she can remember, but some of her other interests include learning more about vet med, reading and writing, or learning about mythology from all over the world. Currently she has 3 pets: 2 dogs named Milo and Niko, and a ball python named Sypha.

Emily Paisley

Emily is from Landenberg, Pennsylvania and attended Bloomsburg University for Communication Studies. She has a true passion for animals of all kinds, especially her two rescue dogs named Max and Tootie. Emily has known since she was little that working with animals is what she wanted to do. In her free time, she likes bringing her dogs to the park or the beach or spending time with friends.

Reilly Kaye

Reilly Kaye was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She is currently in school getting an Associates in Animal Science and Medicine to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has 2 family dogs, a German Shepard/ Lab mix and a Chihuahua. She also has 2 cats. She loves spending time with all my animals!
